July 4th has come and gone. I hope you had a safe holiday with friends and family. The summer is proving to be hot and humid so far. Staying safe in the heat involves drinking plenty of water, spending time in the shade and using your sunscreen properly. Flowers are all in bloom, making July one of my favorite months. Many festivals are up and coming in July, I hope you find the time to enjoy the art, music and food that comes with them. Don't forget to keep your pets safe from the heat with plenty of water. Most important, don't leave children or pets in your vehicles for anytime at all, it can be deadly.

I grew up in South Bend and obtained a B.S. from Purdue University. I have been an Elkhart resident since 1984 and I am married with one adult child. I have been a State Farm Agent since 1986, priding myself with long term licensed team members. Throughout my career I have continued my insurance and financial services education to insure I am up to date on the issues we all face while preparing for the unexpected.
